The S & R Sport Coach of the Month for August 2014 is Bart Gawboy of the Westside Aquatics club. For winning Bart receives a $50 gift certificate to S & R Sport. Here is his nomination from fellow coach Dean Heck.

Bart and I played master polo together for 25 years.  Bart's son graduated Venice HS in 2013 and at first he was a volunteer assistant coach at Venice and now is volunteer head coach.  He also is a volunteer coach for Westside and attended both the first and second sessions of JO's this year.  He was the only Westside coach to attend both sessions.  For the first session he assisted head coach Kirk Lazaruk with our 16 under boys team.   Despite a rash of injuries and illness, they played very well and almost beat the number one seed before losing by four goals.   Bart was a big part of the girls 18 under team as well.  He has encouraged many players from Venice High School to join our club and our key player, our goalie,  just graduated from Venice HS.  Our goalie, Gabby Morse, and Bart have a great long term coach/player relationship and having her as our leader was vital to our success.  I think everyone knows how important an athletic and solid goalie is at the championship level of JO's,  especially one that has leadership qualities.  Bart has been key in the success of our team and club and the development of many of our athletes. I'm happy to nominate him for coach of the month.
