USA Youth Women Advance To Fifth Place Game At Youth World Championship With 20-6 Win Over China

Aria Fischer scored a game high nine goals to power Team USA past China

Auckland, New Zealand - December 16 - The USA Youth Women's National Team advanced to the fifth place match of the FINA Youth World Championship with a 20-6 win over China. Aria Fischer (SET/SOPAC) scored nine goals in the victory with Heidi Ritner (CDM Aquatics/SOPAC) and Thea Walsh (SET/SOPAC) combined for nine saves in net. Team USA jumped out to a quick lead opening up a 6-2 advantage after the first quarter and then went up 10-4 at the half. In the third quarter they expanded to a ten goal lead going ahead 16-6. They closed things out with four unanswered goals in the fourth to take the 20-6 win. 

The United States went 7/12 on power plays and 0/1 on penalty shots while China went 3/10 on power plays and did not attempt a penalty shot.
