Clearwater, FL - July 15 - The USA Women's Youth National Team took bronze at the UANA Junior Pan American Championship after a 21-7 win over Puerto Rico. Bianca Becerra and Malia Allen scored four goals each in the victory with Emily Blackwell and Itzy Baca combining for 10 saves in net. Canada won the gold medal defeating Brazil 12-9. Canada's Blaire McDowell was named MVP, Brazil's Thatiana Pregolini earned top goalkeeper honors and Puerto Rico's Milena Guzman was the top scorer of the tournament. Team USA got off to a hot start taking a 5-1 lead afer the first quarter and making it an 11-2 advantage at halftime. In the third quarter Puerto Rico looked to rally scoring four goals but the United States answered with five more goals of their own for a 16-6 lead. In the fourth Team USA closed thing outs with five more goals to win the game 21-7.

Team USA wetn 6/12 on power plays and 2/2 on penalties while Puerto Rico was 2/9 on power plays and did not attempt a penalty.
