USA Youth Women Down Peru 11-1 At UANA Youth Pan Ams

Lima, Peru - July 5 - The USA Youth Women's National Team showed no signs of slowing down in their latest match at the UANA Youth Pan Ams as they defeated the host nation Peru, 11-1. Jenna Flynn led the attack with four goals. Maya Avital and Carolyne Stern added 10 saves in net in the victory. Team USA returns to play on Thursday against Trinidad & Tobago at 11:15am et/8:15am pt. For more information on the tournament, click here. The United States took control early opening up a 5-0 lead after the first quarter and an 8-0 lead at halftime. They kept Peru scoreless in the third quarter tacking on another goal to lead 9-0 after three. In the fourth quarter Peru broke through with their lone goal of the match but Team USA answered with two more goals to take the game comfortably 11-1.

Team USA went 0/2 on power plays and did not attempt a penalty shot while Peru went 1/1 on the advantage and 0/1 on penalty shot attempts.
