USA Youth Women Defeat Canada 11-6 For Fourth Straight Win In Peru

Lima, Peru - July 5 - The USA Youth Women's National Team celebrated the July 4th holiday with an 11-6 win over Canada in Peru to claim their fourth straight win at the UANA Youth Pan Ams. Four different players scored two goals in the win including Skyler Jones, Layne Anzaldo, Jenna Flynn, and Paola Dominguez-Castro. Carolyne Stern went the whole way in net stopping 13 shots. Team USA jumped out to a 4-1 lead after the first quarter but Canada rallied in the second adding three goals to make it 6-4 USA at halftime. Defenses took over in the third with Canada holding the United States scoreless and adding a goal to bring their deficit to just a goal at 6-5 going to the fourth. Team USA expoloded for five goals over the final eight minutes to take control of the game and win 11-6.

The United States went 2/5 on power plays and Canada went 3/10 with neither side attemtping a penalty shot.
