Auckland, New Zealand - April 7 - The USA Women's National Team will play for gold at the FINA Intercontinental Tournament following a 16-11 win over Canada. Rachel Fattal (Seal Beach, CA/UCLA/SOCAL) scored four goals with Gabby Stone (La Jolla, CA/Stanford/San Diego Shores) getting the win in net with 10 saves. Team USA jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first quarter before Canada battled back with three of their own to make it a 4-3 advantage for the United States after one. Both offenses exploded in the second quarter for 10 goals combined with Team USA outscoring Canada 6-4 to take a 10-7 lead at intermission. In the third quarter the United States built on their lead outscoring Canada 3-1 for a 13-8 advantage. The two sides were even in the fourth with three goals each allowing Team USA's lead to hold on the way to the 16-11 win.
