Cadet Women Down Puerto Rico 15-5; Earn Bye Into Junior Pan Ams Semifinals

Edmonton, Canada - July 17 - The USA Women's Cadet National Team closed out bracket play in second place following a 15-5 victory over Puerto Rico earlier today at the UANA Junior Pan American Championship. Sophie Leggett scored four goals to lead Team USA while Erin Tharp and Georgia Phillips split time in net recording 13 saves. Team USA finished in second place in preliminary play earning a bye to the semifinals and will have two days off returning to action on July 20. The USA Women's Cadet Team jumped out to a quick lead going up 4-2 on Puerto Rico after the first quarter. By half, they widened the gap to 8-3 and in the third quarter made it 9-4. Team USA finished things strong pulling away for a 15-5 victory. 

Bayley Weber added three assists while Hannah Constandse picked up three steals in the win.
