USA Youth Men Earn Silver At UANA Youth Pan American Championships

Kingston, Jamaica - September 4 - The USA Youth Men's National Team fell just short of gold at the UANA Youth Pan American Championships, losing to Brazil 11-10. Chasen Travisano scored four goals in the loss while goalkeeper Duncan Creed was named top goalkeeper of the tournament following the competition. Team USA held two goal leads at halftime and in the fourth quarter only to see Brazil rally for the victory. Team USA completes the tournament with a record of 7-1.

The two squads were even early, as the first period ended in a 4-4 tie. In the second quarter the United States was able to push ahead thanks to three goals in the period from Travisano and another from Jake Ehrhardt to build an 8-6 lead. Team USA went up 9-6 midway through the third period but Brazil rallied with two straight goals to leave it a 9-8 match going to the fourth. 

Miles Cole connected for a goal early in the fourth period to put the United States ahead 10-8 but after that it was all Brazil. Brazil scored two straight to tie the match at 10-10 with 6:36 to play in the fourth. It was a defensive struggle the rest of the way until 1:17 remaining in the period when Brazil scored the final goal of the match to go up 11-10. Final chances from Team USA did not result in a goal and Brazil held on for the victory.
