USA Youth Men Finish In 10th Place At FINA Youth World Championship

Podgorica, Montenegro - September 2 - The USA Men's Youth National Team finished in 10th place at the FINA Youth World Championship after dropping a 12-10 decision to Spain on the final day of competition. Hannes Daube led the USA attack with four goals with Sam Murphy stopping 14 shots in net. For more infromation on the tournament, click here to visit the official homepage. 

The two squads were even throughout the first half all level at 2-2 after the first quarter and 5-5 at intermission. The third quarter proved the difference maker with Spain outscoring Team USA 5-2 to go ahead 10-7 with one quarter to play. The United States looked to rally scoring three goals in the fourth but Spain countered with two more of their own to take the match 12-10. 

Team USA went 3/9 on power plays and 2/2 on penalty shots while Spain was 2/8 on power plays and did not attempt a penalty shot.
