USA Men Pick Up First Win At FINA Youth World Championship Defeating Uzbekistan 26-7

Szombathely, Hungary - August 14 - The USA Men's Youth National Team earned their first win at the FINA Youth World Championship defeating Uzbekistan 26-7. Gabriel Discipulo scored five goals to lead the offense and was named player of the game. Daniel Roland and Kent Emden combined to stop eight shots in net. Team USA took charge of this match early building a 4-0 lead in the opening quarter before Uzbekistan got on the board with their lone goal of the period. Team USA ran off four more goals after that to lead 8-1 after one. They continued to pour it on in the second quarter adding six more goals to lead 14-5 at halftime. Five more goals followed in the third quarter for a 19-7 lead. The United States closed things out with a strong fourth quarter outscoring Uzbekistan 7-0 to claim the match at 26-7. 

Team USA was nearly flawless on the advantage going 9/10 on power plays and 1/1 on penalties with Uzbekistan going 1/4 on power plays and 1/1 on penalties.
