Cadet Men Fall To Croatia In Second Match At FINA Youth World Championship

Szombathely, Hungary - August 13 - The USA Youth Men's National Team lost their second match at the FINA Youth World Championship, dropping a 14-8 match to Croatia. Ash Molthen and Hannes Daube scored two goals each in the loss with Daniel Roland providing nine saves in net. Team USA got off to a hot start against Croatia opening a 3-1 lead in the first quarter following a Molthen goal with 2:40 left in the period. They pushed it to 4-1 early in the second on a Daube goal with 7:24 left in the period. Croatia answered with four straight goals to take a 5-4 lead at halftime. 

Croatia took control from there adding three more goals in the third quarter to lead 8-6 going to the fourth. In the final period they put the match away with a six goal outburst, including the final three goals of the match to secure the victory. 

Team USA struggled on the advantage going just 2/12 with no penalty shots attempted while Croatia was 8/13 on the power play and 1/1 on penalties.
