USA Youth Men Drop 12-9 Decision To Montenegro On Day Two In Serbia

Belgrade, Serbia - August 3 - The USA Men's Youth National Team dropped their second match at the Mediterranean Cup in Serbia, falling to Montenegro 12-9. Ash Molthen scored four goals to lead the offense with Danny Roland and Kent Emden adding 8 saves in net. Team USA will take on Germany next before meeting Hungary. 

Montenegro took an early 2-1 lead after the first quarter and then expanded it to a 5-2 lead at halftime. In the third quarter the United States looked to rally with three goals but Montenegro answered with four more of their own. The United States was never able to battle all the way back despite outscoring Montenegro 4-3 in the fourth quarter. Team USA struggled on the power play going 1/9 while Montenegro went 3/5. Both teams went 1/1 on penalties.
