Clearwater, FL - July 15 - The USA Men's Youth National Team won silver at the UANA Junior Pan American Championship after suffering an 8-5 loss to Brazil earlier today. Makoto Kenney scored three goals in the loss while Kent Emden recorded nine saves in net. Emden was named top goalkeeper of the tourney. Brazil was anchored by Rafael Vergara who was named tournament MVP and top goal scorer. To watch a replay of the match, click here. For more information on the tournament, click here.

The match was close early with the scored tied at 1-1 after the first quarter and 2-2 at halftime. Brazil took control in the third quarter outscoring Team USA 6-1 to build an 8-3 lead going to the fourth quarter. Team USA tried to rally in the final period but only mustered two goals falling 8-5. The United States went 0/8 on power plays and 0/1 on penalty shots while Brazil was 3/6 on power plays and 1/1 on penalties.

In other action it was Canada beating Argentina 14-9 for bronze and Puerto Rico edging Colombia 10-8 for fifth place. Rounding things out in seventh place it was Peru over Barbados 15-5.
