USA Youth Men Pick Up First Win At UANA Junior Pan American Championship

Clearwater, FL - July 11 - The USA men faced off against Argentina in their second game of the UANA Junior Pan American Championships. Despite falling behind early Team USA came from behind and convincingly defeated Argentina 15-6. Tanner Pulice led the way for Team USA with five goals and Kent Emden racked up 13 saves in the victory.

Team USA jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on two goals by Tanner Pulice, but Argentina responded with three unanswered goals to take a 3-2 lead with under three minutes left in the first quarter. Team USA fought back with three unanswered goals of their own to take a 5-3 lead into the break. Team USA continued to ride their momentum as they outscored Argentina 4-0 in the second quarter to take a 9-3 lead at halftime. Argentina continued to be shut down by Team USA’s defense and goalie Kent Emden as they were unable to score in the third quarter. Team USA put two more goals up on the board as they took an 11-3 lead at the end of the quarter. Argentina finally broke through in the fourth quarter with three goals but Team USA scored four more as they won 16-5.

In earlier action for the men today Canada defeated Colombia 15-5. In the second game Brazil led Puerto Rico 8-3 at halftime and went on to win 17-8. The third game of the day saw Peru win their first game of the tournament with a 19-4 defeat of Barbados. For more information on the tournament including schedules and scoresheets, click here.
