USA Youth Men Defeat Argentina 10-3; Earn Bye To UANA Youth Pan Am Semifinals

Lima, Peru - July 6 - The USA Youth Men's National Team defeated Argentina 10-3 yesterday in Peru to punch a ticket to the semifinal round of the UANA Youth Pan American Championship. The victory also earns a spot for the United States in the next FINA Youth World Championship. In the win over Argentina it was Joseph Molina, Alika Naone and Gabriel Putnam all scored twice in the win. Daniel Roland and Anthony Rethans combined for nine saves in net. Team USA was off today and returns to play on Friday in the semifinal round against an opponent to be determined. For more information on the tournament, click here. Team USA led 4-1 after the first quarter and held that lead at halftime as scoring dropped off in the second quarter. The United States tacked on three goals in the third and three more in the fourth to cruise to the seven goal victory. 

The United States went 2/6 on power plays and 0/1 on penalties while Argentina was 3/11 on the advantage and 1/1 on penalties.
