USA Youth Men Defeat Colombia 12-9 For Second Straight Win At Youth Pan Ams

Lima, Peru - July 2 - The USA Men's Youth National Team faced stiffer competition in their second match at the UANA Youth Pan American Championship but still came away victorious, defeating Colombia 12-9. Aaron Arias, Quinn Woodhead, and Garrett Zaan all scored three goals to lead the offense with Anthony Rethans and Daniel Roland combining for 13 saves in net. Team USA went ahead 2-1 after the first quarter but Colombia turned the tables in the second, outscoring the United States 3-1 to go ahead 4-3 at halftime. Team USA played strong in the second half posting four goals in the third quarter to take a 7-6 lead. In the fourth the United States tacked on five more goals to take the match by three goals at 12-9. 

The United States went 1/1 on power plays and did not attempt a penalty shot while Colombia was 3/6 on the advantage and 1/1 on penalty shots.
