Classic Rivalry: Anytime the New York Athletic Club and the Olympic Club get together it is bound to be a close contest and Week 1 of the National League was no different. The latest matchup in the longtime rivalry went to the Olympic Club, claiming a 9-8 victory behind a balanced scoring attacking that saw eight different players find the back of the net. 

Big Ben: 2016 Olympian Ben Hallock wasted no time asserting himself in 2018 National League action. The Stanford Cardinal powered home nine goals in three games including five in a victory over California. 

Cal Debuts: The California Golden Bears made their National League debut in 2018 in Week 1 action and went 1-2 over three games with a victory over USA Collegiate. The squad includes members f the 2016 NCAA Championship winning team. Odysseas Masmanidis led the Bears with nine goals on the weekend. 

McQuin-ing: New York Athletic Club goalie and 2016 Olympian McQuin Baron racked up 27 saves in helping his team to two victories in Week 1 action. The Cutino Award winner and USC standout had 14 saves in a win over USA University.
