USA Men Finish Play At Benu Cup With 12-1 Win Over Romania

Budapest, Hungary - July 7 - The USA Men's National Team finished strong at the Benu Cup in Budapest with a 12-1 win over Romania. Alex Bowen (Santee, CA/Stanford/NYAC) scored four goals while Drew Holland (Orinda, CA/Stanford/Olympic Club) added 13 saves in net. Team USA finishes 1-2 at the Benu Cup with losses to Australia and Hungary in addition to the win over Romania.

Team USA put together a strong first half taking a 2-0 lead after the opening quarter and building a 5-0 advantage at halftime. In the third quarter Romania got on the board, but the United States countered with three more goals to go in front 8-1. They closed things out with conviction in the fourth outscoring Romania 4-0 on the way to the 12-1 victory. 

The United States went 3/8 on power plays and 1/1 on penalties with Romania going 1/7 on power plays and not attempting any penalty shots.
