Belgrade, Serbia - August 19 - The USA Men's Cadet National Team advanced to the gold medal game of the Darko Cukic Memorial Tournament with a 9-8 win over the Netherlands. Team USA will now play for gold against Croatia on Sunday at 5am et/2am pt in a meeting of the two only undefeated teams left in the tourney. In the win over the Netherlands Tanner Pulice and Nicholas Tierney scored two goals each to lead the offense with Nolan Krutonog recording 15 saves in net.

Team USA earned a birth into the finals by maintaining composure and focus through the pressure of being the game favorite, holding off a late Netherlands surge and by battling a local crowd that was loudly cheering for a US loss to put host Serbia into the championship game. The US only trailed once in the game early in the first quarter. They again relied on solid defense to carry them. Also, the team's timely, opportunistic and balanced offense continued as the US saw six players register a goal.
