USA Cadet Men Edged By Greece 8-7 In Latest Match Of Darko Cucic Memorial Tournament

Belgrade, Serbia - August 15 - The Men's Cadet National Team lost their latest match at the Darko Cucic Memorial Tournament, falling to Greece 8-7. Chase Travisano and Cameron Wright led the offense with two goals each while Patrick Saunders posted 18 saves in net. Team USA returns to action on Saturday with a match against Russia at 9am pst.

Greece started off strong with a 3-2 lead after the first period. The two teams were even in the second period scoring one goal each for a 4-3 Greece lead at halftime. In the third period the sides were even again in the third period scoring a goal each to leave Greece ahead 5-4. The Team USA defense was strong during that time period holding Greece scoreless for a nine minute period spanning the second and third quarters, but the offense couldn't pull ahead. In the fourth period the teams were even once more scoring three goals each with Greece taking the match 8-7.

Team USA went 2/7 on power plays and did not attempt a penalty while Greece went 4/10 on power plays and 2/2 on penalty shots.
