USA Cadet Men Defeat Argentina 12-7; Advance To Semifinals Of Junior Pan Am Championship

Edmonton, Canada - July 20 - The USA Cadet Men's National Team kept up their winning ways in Canada defeating Argentina 12-7 to finish group play undefeated at the UANA Junior Pan American Championship. Tyler Abramson, Ryan Sawyer, and Luis Araya all scored three goals in the win with Sam Murphy and Adrian Weinberg teaming up for eight saves in net. Team USA will now take on Brazil today in the semifinals at 4:50pm pt. For more information on the tournament including live streaming, click here

Team USA jumped out to a 4-1 lead after the first quarter and went ahead 6-3 at halftime. They put the match away in the third quarter outscoring Argentina 4-2 to go in front 10-5. Argentina looked to rally in the fourth delivering a penalty shot score but Team USA added two more goals to negate the efforts coming away with the 12-7 victory. 

The United States went 2/6 on power plays while Argentina was 2/7 and 1/1 on penalty shots.
