USA Women's Junior National Team Takes Eighth Place At FINA Junior World Championships With 11-9 Loss To Netherlands

Trieste, Italy - September 17 - The USA Women's Junior National Team closed out the FINA Junior World Championships with an 11-9 loss to the Netherlands to take home eighth place. Colleen O'Donnell scored three goals while Kate Baldoni tallied 10 saves in net.

The Netherlands got off to a good start opening up a 3-1 lead after the first quarter only to see the United States rally with three goals in the second quarter to close within 5-4 at halftime. In the third quarter the two teams were even with two goals apiece and the Dutch remained in front 7-6 headed to the final period. In the fourth the Netherlands added four more goals to just three from the United States to grab an 11-9 victory.

Team USA went 2/6 on power plays while the Netherlands was 3/6 on 2/2 on power plays. Other goal scorers for the United States included Rachel Fattal with two and Kaley Dodson, Kiley Neushul, Madeline Rosenthal, and Dominique Sardo all with one goal apiece.
