USA Junior Women Thump Germany 25-2 To Advance To Quarterfinals

Trieste, Italy - September 14 - The USA Women's Junior National Team got back on the winning track with a 25-2 victory over Germany at the FINA Junior World Championships. The victory propels the team into the quarterfinals where they will meet Hungary tomorrow. Kiley Neushul led the scoring onslaught with five goals while Kate Baldoni stopped nine shots including a five meter in the victory.

Team USA jumped out to a huge lead early opening up a 5-0 advantage after the first quarter and 12-0 at halftime. The offense kept on coming in the third quarter with eight more goals to build a 20-1 lead. In the fourth Germany was able to tack on another score but that was countered by five goals from the United States to come away winners at 25-2.

Other scores for Team USA included Dominique Sardo with four goals, Ashley Grossman and Colleen O'Donnell with three goals, Kaley Dodson, Emily Greenwood, and Brooke Martin with two goals, and a goal apiece for Rachel Fattal, Kelly Mendoza, Dana Ochsner, and Madeline Rosenthal.

Team USA went 3/3 for power plays including a goal scored on a six on four advantage while Germany went 0/2. Germany also missed their lone penalty shot attempt.
