USA Junior Men Defeat Iran 17-1 To Finish FINA Junior World Championships In 9th Place

Volos, Greece - September 3 - The USA Men's Junior National Team closed out the FINA Junior World Championships with a 17-1 rout of Iran to take home ninth place. Collin Smith and Alex Bowen led the offense with four goals each while Jon Sibley and Justin Parsons teamed up in the cage for 12 saves.

Team USA dominated this game throughout opening up a 3-0 lead after the first quarter and a 9-1 lead at halftime. The second half was more of the same as the United States continued to pile on the goals with a 14-1 lead after the third quarter. Three more goals were added in the fourth to come away winners at 17-1.

Other scorers for the United States included Spencer Hamby with three goals, Brett Bonanni and Paul Rudolph with two goals, and one goal apiece for Nick Rascon and Nick Hoversten.
