USA Junior Men Topple Brazil 14-6; Will Play Iran For 9th Place

Volos, Greece - September 2 - The USA Men's Junior National Team returned to the winning column with a 14-6 defeat of Brazil at the FINA Junior World Championships. They will close out the tourney playing for ninth place against Iran on Saturday. In the match over Brazil the United States was led by Collin Smith and Nick Rascon who each scored four goals.
Team USA was in control early on building up a 5-1 lead after the first quarter and a 7-1 lead at halftime. In the third Brazil tried to battle back with three goals but the United States answered with three of their own to hold a 10-4 advantage headed to the fourth. In the final period the United States posted four more scores to come away winners 14-6.
Other scorers for the United States included Brett Bonanni and Alex Bowen each with three goals. Jon Sibley went the whole way in the cage for Team USA.
