USA Men Fall To Spain 7-4 To Open FINA Junior World Championships

Volos, Greece - The USA Men's Junior National Team opened play at the FINA Junior World Championships with a 7-4 loss to Spain. Spencer Hamby led the offensive effort with three goals and Jon Sibley posted 10 saves in net including a five meter stop. Team USA takes on South Africa tomorrow in the next match of group play.

Spain started off the match strong with a 2-1 lead at the end of the first quarter and 4-2 at halftime. In the third quarter the United States drew to 5-4 by the end of the period but Spain turned it back on in the fourth outscoring the United States 2-0 to take the match 7-4. Chris Wendt scored the other goal for the United States and the team went 1/5 on power plays.
