USA Women's Cadet Team Falls To Canada; USA Men's Cadet Team Top Trinidad To Advance

Puerto Rico - August 11 - The USA Men's Cadet National Team edged Trinidad 7-5 to advance to the semifinals of the UANA Youth Pan American Championships while the USA Women's Cadet National Team fell to Canada 15-8.
In the victory for the USA Men Ben Hallock paced the offense with two goals and was joined in the scoring effort by Jamie Kuprenas, Blake Parrish, Bryce Hoerman, and Jordan Colina who all added a score. Team USA went 2/6 on power plays in the win and now advances to the semifinals. "“Today was a critical win for our advancement. The team’s preparation was good and we had some very young kids step up and take over the game. Now we will begin our preparation for our semifinal matchup tomorrow,” said USA Head Coach Brett Ormsby.
The loss to Canada for the USA Women saw a tight first half, 3-2 Canada after the first, and 8-7 Canada at halftime, give way to a dominating performance by the Canadians in the second half where they outscored the United States 7-1. Morgan Hallock scored three times for the United States and was joined in the scoring column by Aley Vilches, Kiana Yamishiro, Devin Grab, and Haley Wan who all scored once. Alexis Hollinrake played all 32 minutes in the cage with Team USA going 3/9 on power plays and Canada converting 4/10 opportunities.
