2011 SwimOutlet.com Boy's Junior Olympics Come To A Close

Irvine, CA - August 3 - The 2011 SwimOutlet.com Boy's Junior Olympics wrapped yesterday at the Woollett Aquatic Center in Irvine, California. Medals were awarded in the Platinum and Gold Division of the 10U coed, 12U, 14U, 16U, 18U and for the first time ever 21U. In the 10U coed division platinum flight it was United over Commerce 9-5 for the Gold Medal and Anteater stopping Elite 9-6 for the Bronze Medal. In the gold flight Kahuna Black took the Gold Medal with a 16-4 win over OCWPC. As for the 12U division's Platinum flight SoCal stopped Foothill for the Gold Medal 12-4 and Huntington Beach edged United 12-11 for Bronze. In the Gold flight SET topped Elite 17-9 to win the Gold Medal and United defeated South Bay 10-6 for the Bronze.

Moving ahead to the 14U age group in the Platinum flight LA Water Polo won the Gold Medal with an 11-7 win over United and SoCal stopped San Diego Shores in a shootout to win the Bronze. In the Gold flight Navy defeated Lamorinda 12-9 for the Gold Medal and Greenwich nipped Clovis 7-6 for the Bronze Medal. The 16U age group's Platinum flight witnessed a thrilling comeback in the Gold Medal match with Lamorinda rallying to defeat LA Water Polo 12-10 while in the Bronze Medal match SoCal held off Stanford 7-6. In the Gold flight Regency took out South Bay United 13-9 for the Gold Medal and Commerce stopped Sacto Black 9-7 to earn the Bronze Medal.

The 18U division had a packed house to see the Platinum flight's Gold Medal match between Stanford and Regency with Stanford earning the win 15-11. LA Water Polo downed San Diego Shores 10-9 to pick up the Bronze Medal. In the Gold flight South Pasadena defeated Stanford White 13-10 for the Gold and in the Bronze Medal game it was DACA over San Diego Shores in a shootout victory. For the first time ever the 21U division was contested at the Junior Olympics. An intense match saw Trojan edge Lamorinda 7-5 for the Gold Medal and in the Bronze Medal match Newport defeated the DWPC Aggies 8-7.

In the JO Challenge the 14U age group saw Kahuna Black defeat Princeton 14-7 in the championship match of the Silver flight while South Coast topped Riverside 11-2 in the third place match. In the Bronze flight it was LA Water Polo topping Orange County Water Polo 9-8 for first place. San Diego Shores was a winner over fellow San Diego native, La Jolla 6-4 to earn third place.

The 16U age group saw CVAC defeat La Canada in a shootout to win first in the Silver flight while Davis topped CHAWP 13-10 for third place. In the Bronze flight Foothill doubled up West Suburban 10-5 to take the title and Golden State was one better than Stockton 11-10 to take third. In the 18U age group Elite defeated CVAC 12-9 to win first in the Silver flight. Ventura was a winner in a shootout over Palos Verdes to take third place. In the Bronze flight Palm Springs held off Spartan 8-5 to take the crowd and Ann Arbor was a winner over A2 WPC 9-4 to win third place.
