China Defeats USA Women 7-6 In Exhibition Match

Tianjin, China - June 10 - For the second straight day the Chinese Women's National Team topped the USA Women's National Team 7-6 in an exhibition match played in Tianjin. Six different scorers paced the USA offense while Tumua Anae (Newport Beach, CA/USC/SoCal) went the distance in net turning aside 12 shots. Team USA is playing these matches in advance of the FINA World League Super Final which gets started on Tuesday, June 14.

The USA got off to a good start holding a 1-0 lead after the first period. China rallied with three goals in the second period to make it a tie game at 3-3 going into halftime. In the third period China added three more scores to just two from the United States for a 6-5 lead after three quarters. The final period saw each team muster just one goal but it was enough for the Chinese to come away winners at 7-6.

Team USA went 4/8 on power plays while China was 2/6.
