BRIDGEPORT, Pa. --
The University of California garnered 100 points for a sixth
week in a row to remain as a unanimous top choice in the Week 12/November 24
Men's Varsity Top 20 poll released today by the Collegiate Water Polo
Association. The University of Redlands and Johns
Hopkins University are tied at No. 1 in the Division III Top 10 poll,
while CWPA Eastern Champion St. Francis College (N.Y.) held
onto the No. 1 ranking in the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Top 10
poll.
Voted on by
a panel of coaches and administrators from around the country during the
preseason and each week of the season based on the cumulative results of each
team, the Varsity Top 20, Division III Top 10 and Collegiate Water Polo
Association Top 10 polls are released on Wednesday during the season until the
week following the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)
Championship.
Men's Varsity Top
20
The
University of California remains at No. 1 for another week as
the Golden Bears once again garnered 100 points to top the Week 12/November 24
Men's Varsity National Top 20.
California,
which garnered 95 points to edge out the University of
California-Los Angeles by a single point (95-to-94) in the preseason
rankings, previously ranked No. 1 as a unanimous choice in the September 8,
September 15, October 20, October 27, November 3, November 10 and November 17
polls.
The
University of Southern California, which held the No. 1 ranking
in the September 22, September 29, October 6 and October 13 polls, stays at No.
2 this week as the first eight positions in the poll remain unchange from the
November 17 ballot.
The
University of the Pacific, Stanford
University, University of California-Irvine,
University of California-Santa Barbara and Loyola
Marymount University remain locked at No. 3-8, while Pepperdine
University edged in front of Long Beach State
University to take over at No. 9.
Positions
No. 11-20 in the poll underwent a radical shake-up as only No. 14 Santa
Clara University and No. 20 Brown University held
their spots from last week's poll.
The
University of California-Davis and St. Francis College (N.Y.)
move up to No. 11 and 12, respectively, while the University of
California-San Diego, Santa Clara and the United States Naval
Academy complete the Top 15.
Behind
Navy, Princeton University, California Baptist

Men's Varsity Division III Top
10

The
University of Redlands remains at No. 1 in the Division III
poll this week, but with company as Johns Hopkins University
garnered 93 points to tie the Bulldogs for the top spot in the Week 12/November
24 Men's Varsity Division III Top 10 poll.
Redlands,
which replaced Pomona-Pitzer Colleges atop the national
rankings last week, went 2-1 last week falling to No. 8 Loyola Marymount
University (13-6 L) and defeating Whittier College
(9-8 W) and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (10-7 W).
Johns
Hopkins also went 1-2 last week falling to No. 13 St. Francis
College (9-8 L) and No. 20 Brown University (10-5 L)
with a victory over Fordham University (11-8 W).
is followed
by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges, Pomona-Pitzer,
Johns Hopkins University and Whittier College
in the Top Five.
Behind
Redlands and JHU, Pomona-Pitzer remains No. 3 with Claremont-Mudd-Scripps
dropping back to No. 4.
The
Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Chapman
University, Whittier, California Lutheran University,
Occidental College and the University of La
Verne round out the Top 10.

St.
Francis College (N.Y.) retained its position as a unanimous No. 1 team
for the fourth time in five weeks in the Week 12/November 24 Collegiate Water
Polo Association (CWPA) Top 10 poll as the Terriers rolled to the CWPA Eastern
Championship title over the weekend at Bucknell University.
The
Northern Division champion Terriers defeated No. 2-ranked the United
States Naval Academy 8-4 in the title tilt to return to the NCAA
Championship tournament for the first time since 2005.
The
remainder of the poll also relects the order of finish at the Eastern
Championship as Princeton University, Bucknell
Univeristy, Brown University, Johns Hopkins
University, MIT and Fordham
University rate at No. 3-8, with Mercyhurst College
and George Washington University completing the Top
10.
