USA Women's Senior National Team To Compete In Pre-World Cup Tourney In Australia; Free Live Webcasts

Sydney, Australia - August 6 - The USA Women's Senior National Team will take part in a pre-World Cup tournament in Sydney, Australia starting on Sunday, August 8 and concluding on Thursday, August 12. The event will take place in Sydney, the same site of the 2000 Olympic Games and this event marks a ten year anniversary of that competition, the first ever Olympics to include women's water polo.

USA's Brenda Villa (Commerce, CA/Commerce) will be competing and is the only player on the United States in action that took part in those Olympic Games ten years ago, Heather Petri (Orinda, CA/NYAC) is out of action recovering from a knee injury. Team USA opens up with Canada on Sunday at 2pm local time. Other competing nations include China, Australia, Russia, and Greece.
The event serves as warm-up to the FINA World Cup taking place August 17-22 in Christchurch, New Zealand.
