Medals Awarded As 2010 Boys S & R Sport Junior Olympics Come To A Close

Los Angeles, CA - August 3 - A furious four days of water polo came to a close in the boys division of the S & R Sport Junior Olympics with championship Tuesday in both the platinum and gold division. The University of Southern California played host to the gold finals while the Miguel Contreras Learning Center was the site for the platinum division.
In the 12U bracket in the Gold Division Commerce defeated the NSD Stars 20-8 to take the Gold Medal and it was San Diego Shores B defeating Dallas WPC 11-8 in the Bronze Medal match. In the Platinum division San Diego Shores knocked off Orange County Water Polo 8-1 while SoCal defeated ORWP 10-8. Evan Elig and Andrew Chun of San Diego Shores were named Co-MVPs.
For the 14U bracket in the Gold Division CHAWP defeated Trojan 7-4 for the Gold Medal and then Santa Barbara downed Sleepy Hollow Aquatics (Shaq) 8-6 for the Bronze Medal. In the Platinum Division United edged SoCal 8-6 for the Gold Medal and then in a shootout it was San Diego Shores over LA Water Polo 9-8. United's Christian Searing was named MVP of the 14U Division.
In the 16U bracket in the Gold Division Sacto Black defeated Shore Aquatics 6-4 for the Gold and then in the Bronze Medal match Set B defeated Santa Clara 9-8. In the Platinum Division SET was victorious over Stanford 12-3 to claim the Gold Medal. For the Bronze Medal it was LA Water Polo over San Diego Shores 11-5. SET's Logan Chappell was named MVP for the 16U division.
Last but not least was the 18U bracket in the Gold Division where Commerce knocked off Princeton 10-7 and in the Bronze Medal match CHAWP was a winner against the Houston Storm 10-8. In the Platinum division SoCal defeated LA Water Polo 14-9 and in the Bronze Medal match it was San Diego Shores over Lamorinda 9-5. SoCal's Nick Rascon was named 18U MVP.
