The tourney runs through Tuesday with the girls action getting started on Thursday, August 5. For full schedule and result information be sure to visit www.juniorolympics.com.
As the action got started today Mikasa Sports introduced a limited edition ball for this year's Junior Olympics. The ball with a unique green/blue/white color scheme was in use at the start of action today. The ball is made of a new rubber composite that makes for a softer feel while adding a better grip. Using Mikasa's patented "wave" design less than 800 of these balls were made with no future production scheduled, making them a definite collectors item. The balls are on sale at the vendor village inside the McDonald Swim Stadium on the campus of the University of Southern California.
