On behalf of USA Water Polo, we would like to thank you for your support and interest in a membership with USA Water Polo, an organization that brings together water polo players across America to learn, train, compete, laugh, scream, struggle, and ultimately to improve one another through the transformative power of sport. You are part of the Olympic movement—a movement that stretches beyond borders and political ideologies. You are now part of our community. You are part of our team.
Your interest in USA Water Polo may be to compete in one of our national sanctioned events, or to become part of a USAWP club, where you can make friends, improve your skills and connect to the passion of our sport. You may have joined because you are driven to achieve your personal best, and you recognize that USAWP coaches, tournaments and clubs can help you reach your goal.
Whatever your reasons, you are joining a federation that won silver medals in the Beijing Olympic Games by both its men’s and women’s teams, the best overall performance by a nation in water polo history. As a member of USA Water Polo, you have a direct connection to these teams. Almost all of our Olympic players learned their skills playing on a USAWP water polo club. The techniques you learn from your coach today are based on our experience in international competition. A small part of your membership fee goes to help our national teams train—because our national teams are really our sports research and development laboratory. The things we learn from these tournaments are translated over time into a new understanding of our sport that we can teach to you.
Water polo is a passion. Our sport brings families together. Our members talk tactics and match-ups over meals, and like all sports we follow the progress of our rivals and our favorites. Not everyone sees things the same way, and that is also a virtue. Our differences can also be our strengths.
Whether your membership has expired or you are looking to join for the first time we want to invite you to USAWP and enjoy the many benefits of membership to this fast growing community. For those with expired memberships or those registering for the first time you will receive 14 months of membership for the price of 12. As an added incentive for those renewing members, if we receive your renewal prior to December 31, you will also be placed into our Early Bird Membership drawing.
