Q: What type of membership do I need?
USA Water Polo offers multiple annual memberships. For the list and descriptions click here. Memberships are on a calendar-year basis, and expire on December 31 of the given year. Except, new & lapsed member registrations purchased between November 1 and December 31 will lock-in current year pricing and will be valid immediately through December 31 of the following year. Current members who renew their memberships between November 1 and December 31, will be guaranteed current year pricing and the new membership will take effect on January 1, at the end of their current membership. There is a $5 processing fee to register by mail or fax (click here for forms). There is no fee to register online.
Q: When can I change my current club affiliation?
Current members may change their club affiliation within the open transfer periods. All eligible athletes are unable to change their club after the club affiliation deadlines set forth in the Club Affiliation Policy. All current athletes (silver, gold) are able to participate in club practices and sanctioned events, regardless of affiliation, unless otherwise stated in the rules for a particular event.
Q: How do I change my current club affiliation?
To change your club affiliation (within the rules stated in the Club Affiliation Policy), you must first login to your member account. After login, scroll down and select the blue "Change Club Affiliation" button. On the next page, select the "Transfer" button and choose your new club. Only current clubs will be listed in the drop-down menu.
Q: How can I find a club to join or find the club I am currently playing with?
The online club search allows you to search by city, zone, age group, etc.
Q: What is my member ID or username?
Your membership ID number IS your account username. They are one in the same. Just check on your membership card or use the online member ID & password retrieval to locate your account information.
Q: How can I retrieve my password?
The password request will email your Account Login password to you.
Q: How can I upgrade my membership?
If you need to upgrade your membership, you can login to your account and click on the "Upgrade Your Membership" tab. This will allow you to upgrade by paying the difference in cost plus a $5 upgrade fee. Note that you can only upgrade a membership that is current. Therefore if a membership has lapsed, it in ineligible for upgrade.
Q: Does a coach or referee need an athlete membership if they are participating as an athlete?
Any currently registered coach or referee member receives full gold athlete playing rights. They can participate as a gold athlete, without a separate USAWP athlete membership. Each member should have only ONE membership.
Q: Do I receive an insurance package with USAWP membership?
One of the benefits of becoming a USA Water Polo member is that you are covered by insurance. Click Here for more information on the specific insurance coverage for members.
Q: Why is my membership listed as pending?
Your membership may be listed as "pending" if you have purchased a membership when you already have a current membership. When a current member renews for the next year during the early renewal period, his/her current membership is not affected. The renewal will be listed as "pending" and will take effect AFTER the current membership lapses, typically on January 1st.
Q: When does my club affiliation lock?
Club affiliation will lock 7 days prior to the zone qualifying tournament. For zones or divisions that do not have a qualifier, another date will be set for those athletes based on the rules set forth in USA Water Polo's Conduct of Championships. Please view the deadline calendar for exact dates
