2018 Junior Olympics Comes To A Close With Session Two Champions Crowned

Stanford, CA - July 29 - The 2018 Junior Olympics came to a close tonight with champions crowned in six divisions in the championship platinum division alongside several other medal-winning performances. For complete Session 1 and 2 results, click here. In the 18U girls final it was a rematch of the 2017 final as SOCAL and 680 got together, this time with SOCAL winning 8-5 as Val Ayala and Bella Baia shared MVP honors. SET earned third place with a 10-5 win over Santa Barbara 805. In 16U girls final action SET was able to hold off Santa Barbara 805 7-6 to win gold with Quin Winter taking MVP honors. Rose Bowl Red downed Commerce 9-5 to take the bronze. 

In the 14U girls final Pacific Coast Riptide won gold with a 9-4 win over Laguna Beach as Zoe Seaboch won MVP. In the bronze medal match SOCAL picked up more hardware defeating Newport Beach 9-3. The 12U girls final featured Laguna Beach defeating Commerce 9-7 for gold with Emerson Hensley picking up the MVP award. In the bronze medal match SOCAL slipped past Northwood 7-6 in a shootout. 

The 10U girls final saw Shore Aquatics defeat Vanguard 5-0 with Katherine O'Dea earning MVP honors. In third place Diablo Alliance was a winner over Stanford at 15-6. In 10U mixed competition Vanguard won top honors defeating Trojan 6-0 with Kai Kaneko picking up the MVP award. In third place Newport Beach edged Poway Valley 4-1 to reach the podium.
