Surf City Optometry Named Official Vision Performance Provider Of USA Water Polo Senior National Teams

March 27, 2018 Huntington Beach, CA – March 27, 2018 – Dr. Bronson Hamada of Surf City Optometry, a leader in sports vision and sensory training, will continue his longstanding relationship with USA Water Polo as the official vision performance provider of the men’s and women’s senior national teams. The agreement runs through 2020 and will see Dr. Hamada continue to provide consultation and services to senior level athletes.

“Dr. Hamada has been an essential partner of USA Water Polo for many years and we look forward to continuing our collaboration through the Olympics in Tokyo in 2020,” said USA Water Polo Chief High Performance Officer John Abdou. “Dr. Hamada’s expertise and care is critical in the development and support of our national team athletes.”

“I have always admired and respected USA Water Polo athletes! To do what they do, at the highest level, takes dedication, skill and determination. The athletes that we have worked with over the years radiate enthusiasm and joy. It is easy to get behind them and to support them on their athletic journey. USA Water Polo has celebrated many accomplishments in the global sports arena and we enthusiastically give the organization our support in their pursuit of reaching the podium at the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020. It is an honor to be named the ‘Official Vision Performance Provider for USA Water Polo Men's and Women's National Teams,’” said Dr. Hamada.

He continued, “vision skills are often overlooked when discussing athletic performance, yet there is a very specific visual skill set that separates novice from elite performers. Elite athletes even process the visual information that is taken in from their eyes more efficiently. Surf City Optometry has worked with elite athletes and teams and has been recognized as a leader in vision care and sports performance vision services. I am thrilled for the opportunity to work with Coach Adam Krikorian, the ‘Coach of the Games’ for the Rio 2016 Olympics, and Coach Dejan Udovicic, who is a relentless competitor and strategist. Chief High Performance Officer John Abdou is insightful and passionate about helping athletes and he has been amazing to work with as well.”

Dr. Hamada has been a longtime resource to the USA Water Polo Women’s Senior National Team, winners of the last two Olympic Games, and will expand his services to include the Men’s Senior National Team. A trusted resource in the Southern California sports community, Dr. Hamada has also worked with the Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Angels, many other pro sports franchises and the Nike SPARQ sensory training system.
