Huntington Beach, CA - March 26 - USA Water Polo will honor the best in sport with a gala event on May 19, 2018 at the San Diego Marriott Del Mar in Del Mar, California. Tickets, table sponsorships and tribute opportunities are now available for an exciting evening that will recognize the 2017 USA Water Polo National Award winners, five retiring Team USA Olympians and three legacy recipients. The 2017 USA Water Polo National Awards were previously announced earlier this month and honor excellence among a variety of areas including coaching, officiating, masters competition, volunteer contributions and overall club performance. Click here to see all the award winners.

In addition, five Olympic athletes who have recently retired from international competition will be honored for their contributions to Team USA. They include five-time Olympian and 2008 silver medalist Tony Azevedo, three-time Olympian and two-time gold medalist Kami Craig, two-time gold medalist Courtney Mathewson, gold medalist Sami Hill and gold medalist KK Clark.

Three legacy award recipients highlight those that have made a lifelong positive impact to the water polo world. They include 2000 Olympic silver medalist and longtime coach Maureen O'Toole, San Diego Shores and national team pipeline coach Doug Peabody, and a history-making Masters water polo team in the H2Oldies.
