Registration Now Open For 2013 Masters Nationals & Masters Festival

Huntington Beach, CA - March 19 - Registration is now open for the 2013 Masters Nationals Championship and the inaugural Masters Festival. The events are set for this June 7-9 in Riverside, California with the Masters Social to be held at the Spaghetti Factory on June 7. The entry deadline for both events is May 17, 2013 with the roster deadline set for May 24, 2013. To register for Masters Nationals click here, to register for the Masters Festival click here.

The Masters Festival tournament is for athletes who would like to enjoy the game in a more relaxed social environment with shorter courses and shorter quarters. The tourney will feature mixed age divisions with five teams per division. The divisions include 18-35, 30-45, 40-55, and 50+. The Inner tube water polo division will feature an open, mixed vision with a minimum of five teams. Inner tube water polo will be played in a 25-yard course with a size 4 ball featuring six field players and one goalkeeper. Masters Festival Tournament - age as of 12/31/13, 15 athletes per team max

Silver level membership required
Photo ID checks prior to each game
Social tournament; for teams and athletes who would like to enjoy the game in a more relaxed,social environment. Shorter courses, shorter quarters.

Tournament rules
·Live substitution from defensive half, direct shot after foul outside 5 meters. Direct shot also allowed from corner throw. Exclusions touch either defensive corner and return to play immediately. No stopping after goal.
·First team to score 5 goals wins game. Short rest between games
·First team to win 3 games will win the match
·If 45 minutes expires before match has ended, team with most wins advances.
·If the current game is tired, then a penalty shootout of 3 shots per team will decide match.
·When deciding matches after 40 minutes has expired, match will be decided when a team is leading by one
game. Three games do not need to be completed.
·If match ends prior to 40 minutes, then teams may play exhibition scrimmages until end of 40 minute time period, leaving 10 minutes for transition to the next game
·40 minutes to play best of 5 games. Running clock, 4 field players and 1 goalkeeper
·20 yard courses with small goals; size 4 ball

Inner tube water polo division
·Open, mixed division; minimum 5 teams
·Women's goals count for 2 points
·25 yard course, size 4 ball
·6 field players, and 1 goalkeeper per team
·Four 8-minute running periods with 2 minute breaks between periods
